K+S Potash Canada’s Named One of Canada's Top 100 Employers

Saskatoon, SK – K+S Potash Canada (KSPC) is excited to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2018, a group that leads the country in attracting and retaining employees. The competition reviewed over 7500 applications from employers across the country and announced their top 100 today.

“K+S Potash Canada is proud to receive this prestigious designation,” said Dr. Ulrich Lamp, President and CEO, of KSPC. “We have worked hard to establish ourselves in Canada over the last five years, and part of that was building our great team. It is wonderful to be recognized for providing an exceptional workplace for our employees. We know that their dedication has been key to our success.”

KSPC broke ground on their Bethune mine (formerly the Legacy Project) near Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, in 2012, and completed the project this spring. The mine produced its first potash in June and shipped its first product to customers from its port facility in Port Moody, B.C., last month.

“Since 2011, KSPC has grown from an organization of a dozen people to nearly 450,” said Maryann Deutscher, Senior Manager of Human Resources, at KSPC. “The KSPC team is proud to be part of a great company and an innovative culture where we care about each other like a family. We have an amazing team that continually goes above and beyond, and this award recognizes that.”

Canada’s Top 100 Employers project is a national competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees. Employers are evaluated by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers using eight criteria, which have remained consistent since the project’s inception: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement. Employers are compared to other organizations in their field to determine which offers the most progressive and forward-thinking programs.

KSPC has been honoured to be one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers every year since 2014.
