Ramp-up Feasibility Project Manager

Your Responsibilities

Reporting to the President, the Ramp-up Feasibility Project Manager is responsible to lead their team to complete the Feasibility study work for Bethune Ramp-up Project.  They are accountable for the quality, budget and schedule of the individual sub-project studies and delivering an overall Feasibility Study program that meets the company’s business objectives. This project is meant to be an effort mainly focused throughout the 2020’s as the scope is staged in alignment with the underlying cavern inventory ramp-up and company financial targets. 

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading teams responsible to advance sub-projects through the KSPC stage gate process through the approval for execution stage gate as part of a coordinated effort per the Bethune ramp-up project execution plan that they are responsible to develop and deliver.  This ramp-up team will work closely and be aligned with the existing Project & Technologies group and follow the same processes, policies and procedures. 
  • Developing and executing the engineering studies necessary to complete all aspects of feasibility from concept through basic engineering in order to achieve sub-project sanction and stakeholder buy-in. This will be done by balancing the project financial goals with end user requirements to ensure they develop a project that is able to operate well the first time and for the normal expected lifetime of the new assets. 
  • Leading a dedicated technical planning team for all scope elements of the ramp-up project until handed over to a project execution team to implement the project (Detailed Engineering through Handover to Operations). 
  • Developing the coordinated ramp-up study plan, organizing and completing project reporting on sub-projects, developing and managing the project schedule and budget, ensuring all quality steps are defined and rigorously executed and manages the overall ramp-up project accountable to the President of KSPC.

  • 15 years experience in a project management role working effectively with operations end customers required.
  • 8 years experience designing projects in heavy industry required.
  • 8 years experience effectively leading project technical teams required.
  • Proven experience working with 3rd party engineering firms to effectively and efficiently complete FEED studies required.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering and P.Eng designation required.
  • Strong preference for proven experience managing >$1 million CAD FEED study scopes for projects with values over $50 million CAD.
  • Potash experience preferred.
  • Preference for having operational experience bringing new project systems into operation.
  • Strong project management skills including demonstrated facilitation and verbal and written communication skills.
  • PMP designation preferred.
