Inventory Analyst

Your Responsibilities

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for the optimization and maintenance of accurate and sufficient materials inventory on hand to support the day to day operations of the Bethune Operations in the most economic, efficient and effective way possible.

The successful candidate will:
•Mentor Material Master Data Administrator including support to the Material Technicians to ensure use of Industry best in practices and processes to gain efficiencies while maintaining governance to KSPC
•Measure and report the effectiveness of inventory activities and employee performance
•Identify areas of improvement to establish innovative concepts or adjust existing work procedures and practices
•Determine training requirements and ensure compliance to Materials Management Process and Procedures
•Collaborate with internal customers to understand inventory needs for supporting daily Operations
•Maintenance of on line cataloguing system for all items carried in inventory
•Setting and maintaining the optimum stocking levels, re-order points and re-order quantities for all inventory items taking into consideration usage, lead times and set quantities
•Timely release of items to the reorder system once minimum stocking levels are breached
•Lead month end reconciliations for bulk and vendor held inventory
•Execute cycle count process, investigate inventory discrepancies and reconcile as required
•Identify and investigate inventory reduction opportunities as business needs arise and collaborate with internal departments prior to execution
•Attend and participate in Safety meetings, following safety rules at all times
•Liaise with and maintain effective relationships with operational departments
•Perform thorough analysis and prepare necessary month end and quarterly reports
•Development & delivery of necessary adhoc reporting requests

Qualifying requirements for this role:
•3+ years’ experience in supervision and 5-8 years progressive experience in Inventory Control preferably in a heavy industrial setting (mining an asset)
•Certified Parts person and/or Designation in Supply Chain Management (SCM) an asset
•Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software, SAP MM and PM modules and asset
•Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office with high level of proficiency in Excel and utilization/integration with SAP reporting and analysis
•Financial and business acumen
•Ability to think strategically, analytically, and innovatively to solve problems
•Demonstrates skills in planning, analysis and problem solving
•Ability to collect data, interpret and present data recommendations
•Understanding of the relationship between Inventory Control and successful business performance
•Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively (in written and verbal form)
•Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and timelines, and achieve results
•Understanding of the relationship between Inventory Control and successful business performance
•Develops and implements systems to organize and keep track of information
•Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and time lines, and achieve results
•Provides timely and accurate support for organizational unit
